Mike, you are one tough dude. I'd be very happy to just win the 1500. :D
It's just talk and dreaming, no training or pain involved.
But we must be turning into a nation of wussies as I can get no interest in a proposed Over-60 rugby league.
100 Free... because you'd be swimming the individual race plus the free relay and probably anchor the medley.
;)
Non swimming - long track speedskating!!!!!!
If you could win one, and only one Olympic event, what would your choice be?
For me it would probably be the Marathon.
I've gotta agree with you. Imagine being the lead runner, to enter a stadium filled with 90,000 people all screaming for you...
absolutely the marathon.. the marathon is the ultimate sport where even if u are dominating the race after 90% of the way, nothing is guaranteed... if u hit the wall, you hit the wall... and there is nothing you can do about it
it is the ultimate test of human will power.. just as hard physically as mentally, and to run into that stadium.. and see those fans who are only there to see one lap around the track. That is all they see, but they are all there for you.. I couldnt imagine that feeling.
When you win a sprint event, or any event that deals with scores or judges, you often dont know you won untill its all done, or maybe even after you are done and you have to wait and see how others have done....
but when you win a marathon, you run into the stadium and you have basically a victory lap and 90,000 people cheer for you.. gotta be the best feeling ever
