I am all for employing the blind, but not necessarily as suit art designers. Surely out of 300,000,000 people in this country, there has to be one person who could do better than that. Of course, the USA Track & Field athletes will have something vastly worse - it's almost a requirement.

I think they look pretty cool. Starting to look like race cars which isn't a bad thing. I can imagine as more money comes into the sport, especially on other continents, these suits will have logos and brand names in them. If it brings more money to the athletes to keep them in the sport, then great!
I do agree with Geek though, the US athletes many times have to wear the most ridiculous outfits at opening ceremonies. I distinctly remember on more that one occasion them having to wear some cheesy red, white, or blue cowboy hat.

You mean something like this?

I actually have the sweatsuit that went with that from my coaching days. It's hideous. Actually, in the last few years the US T&F team uniforms have been drab to the point of being anonymous.

Other then looking like you have a candycane leg, i think it looks alright.
though id never wear one... not because it looks like that but because i enjoy being able to put my suit on in under 20 seconds.

I don't know what they did -- but she looks about 40 like this -- I think it is pretty difficult to make her look bad -- but they certainly tried.
I thought the other thread was good, especially ehoch's comebacks. However, political discussion is specifically banned in the rules, so I guess it's demise was inevitable.
