just got an email about preordering LZR's
for shipment around 6/30
the price list (below) seems too pricey for me
I think it would be good to figure out the ideal
performance vs value point for fastskins
I might order an FSII jammer and legskin
but hopefully it will make the others drop:
LZR Racer Male
Pre-order * LZR Racer Jammer - $290.00
Pre-order * LZR Racer Legskin - $350.00
Pre-order * LZR Racer High Neck Bodyskin - $550.00
LZR Racer Female
Pre-order * LZR Racer Recordbreaker Kneeskin - $425.00
Pre-order * LZR Racer Recordbreaker Bodyskin - $475.00
Pre-order * Female LZR Racer High Neck Bodyskin - $550.00
He might have a couple "certified pre-owned" LZRs he'd be willing to sell me.
The upside of this is that previous versions of speedos become cheaper. I'm uh, hmm let's see, how many generations behind current technology... carry the two, divide by pi... AAAHHHHH! *cough* Anyway, the cost of my current racing suit (outdated though it was when I bought it) irritated That Bride, so a trickle down effect in pricing is better than a dancing banana.
Was Coventry in a LZR racer? I thought all the Longhorn swimmers were either nike or TYR sponsored, must just be the guys. Didn't Hoff break one of Evans' records in a pro a while back or was it Ziegler (I always get those two mixed up)?
Wow!!! A swim suit that breaks world records. Takes no ability and it only needs to fit right.
I think I saw a suit like that in a movie with Christopher Lloyd - My Favorite Matian. www.youtube.com/watch
Somehow I need to get my hands on one of these for Nationals. I figure if I can wear one I can just quit training right now. It's all about the suit, after all. Anyone out there know Michael Phelps? He might have a couple "certified pre-owned" LZRs he'd be willing to sell me.
Ha! Here's a photo of Phelps's "certified pre-owned" suit, from last night's 200 Free prelims. Through the binoculars it looked like certain sections of the suit must be composed of a double layer of fabric. If you look at his right leg, you'll see an area that is very light-colored. My guess is that the top layer of fabric tore off, leaving only the under-layer.

Whoops--I guess thats the price you pay for laser infused material...rather than good ol' seams.

He looks like tron, except black.
Maybe he should have sponsor patches like a NASCAR racer.
you know its only a matter of time.
the day I rely on a suit to make me go faster is the day I give up the sport.
Having both won, and lost, races over the years by .02 of a second or less, I realize that you go for every advantage you can.
Maybe I'm being a Luddite, but I think swimming was better off when people concentrated on stroke technique, nutrition, and training regimens in improving their performance, rather than deciding what suit to wear.
actually the light panel is a "fashion addition" from Comme des Garcon. Looks totally out of place on the suit, and I think the whole idea of fashion patches on a racing suit is a little ridiculous. not to mention garcon's cut of the $550. maybe without the light splotch it would be only $500? :P
