OK Morgan I had my 50FLY race today and went 34.83 against my 36.5 seed time Yeah I'm thinking this might be a bit of a push for me...I actually entered at a 29. something (not sure--forgot to copy the entry form, I saw that I had written 29. whatever as I was putting it in the envelope). so basically...I have to go something like a 27.89. I don't know haha...we'll see I guess.
  • Hulk - are you swimming the Albatross Meet???? Yep, mailed the entry this morning. 100 Back, Free and IM, 50 Free. Plus at least 2 relays, maybe more. Plus Ms. Hulk and I are attending the after race social. Hulk
  • Plus Ms. Hulk and I are attending the after race social. Hulk Awesome! See you there! I mailed my entry form this morning also...50, 100, 200 back and 400 free. Not sure about all of that but my foot is healing well...got in over 16,000 yards of training this past week pain free and mostly without the pull buoy! Not sure that I want to race Mollie, she's been smokin fast in the 50s recently and she normally crushes me in the 200.

OK Morgan I had my 50FLY race today and went 34.83 against my 36.5 seed time You win, I did approx. a 29.32 against my seed time of 29.8 something. Nice time drop for ya though!:whiteflag:
  • Let's hear some results from Albatross. I swam in Roanoke today at the Mad Dog Masters meet. I swam the 50 and 100 free, the 50 *** and the 50 fly. I went 31.10 for the 50 free - a little over a half second improvement from Richmond, with no taper and no rest, plus, I lost my goggles on the start:bitching:. I stood on the blocks with a plan to bust 30, but the goggles took my focus away on the first length. Oh well, this meet was my FIRST EVER last year, and I went 32.82. I'm getting there! Zones baby, zones! I went 1:10.44 for the 100 free - a little over two seconds faster than the Patriot Masters Sprint Classic and 8 seconds faster than this same meet last year. Again, I lost my goggles at the start:rant3:! I don't know what was going on there. 40.13 for the 50 *** - 1.5 seconds faster than Patriot Sprint Classic 40.54 for the 50 fly - first time to finish w/o DQ. My arms felt like they were not going to come out of the water over the last 10 yards or so! All in all, I'm happy with the times considering I lost my goggles twice and did not rest coming into the meet. I'm hoping that with some quality workouts over the next month, a good taper and a fast pool at GMU, I can swim some great times (for me)! Now, about that grudge 200 br Stud???
  • Well, I had some good swims at Albatross (SCM) 100 Free - went sub 1:00 WOOT!!!! 59.94 50 *** - Legs were dead but still shaved half second to 36.82 50 Fly - Once again no legs but shaved .08 to 30.21 50 Back - right shoulder issues put me || this close to scratching but swam it anyway. Broke out 1 foot to deep, had a marginal turn and no legs but went 33.49. Then I swam 50 Fly in back to back relays. Rested for about 3-4 minutes and then swam 50 free lead off in a free relay. Split a 27.91 lead off which all things considered, is pretty good. Considering shoulder issues and no practices for almost 2 weeks, I am very happy with my swims. I wasn't expecting to be sub 1:00 100SCM free at this point, I thought it would take a little longer. Shoulder is not happy right now, icing it as I type this. Paul

If so then put your goggles on first, then your cap and right before the start, pull the goggle straps back and tuck them under the cap. That should help to keep them tight. Paul
