So I made this bet with my 9yo daughter. The bet was that if she swam 100 free (this past Sunday) within 30 seconds of what I swim it in (on the 28th), I would have to give her $20 (10 to her, 10 to her savings account). She is very competitive with me (we race down the slides at the swim center :duel:) and she loves to beat me.
So I was figuring on her going about 1:35-1:38, which means I would have to go about 1:05, really didn't that would be a problem. So what does she do? She nails her start and does THREE flips turns (she does them well in practice, she just isn't confident in them yet) and throws down a 1:29.37. I was thrilled, cause she looked great. Then I did the math , I gotta go sub 1:00. Maybe in a couple of months, sure, don't think I'm gonna get it in this meet. Ugh, nothing like a trash talking 9yo .
Me and my big mouth, maybe I should have held out for 20 seconds??????

If you swim SCM everyday - that SCY pool will seem short! Be sure to get use to the length in your warmup.
Actually Monday practices are in a SCY pool so that helps.

If you're gonna make bets, you better be prepared to pay up. Just ask Tracy Grilli. She had to wear a Yankees shirt and cap at the convention after she lost a bet with Colleen Driscoll. LOL!! Wish I could've seen it in person!!

How dreadful!

Yeah, well, considering that I _thought_ it was a sucker bet as Erika went 1:58 in 100 LCM, I expected a little slower time than what happened.

OK, to all those who badgered me about NTing, I just sent an email to Tim requesting that my seed times be changed. :thhbbb:
Now, I REALLY get to embarrass myself :groovy:
I can only say that I feel like a 5yo on the night before Christmas. I have no idea how I will sleep for the next 11 nights :woot:
Then again, this day has been pretty horrible at work so I think there might be a bit more Fly in my diet tomorrow morning. I just feel the need to hurt :drown:

Here's a link to our last zones meet/get together in August. I think around page 6 or 7 or so, I posted some pics from the that meet from my flickr album. You can see Meet Director Tim Timmons, and others of us! (I apologize for the pics of my kids on the album ... I know it annoys Geek ... but they're there for my friends and family.)

I think the last page of the album has some shots from Colonies Zones last April too.
If you swim 14.5 25 free SCM in practice, you should blow through a 28 SCY unless your turn is bad! I think a 26 is very realistic.
I'm perfectly OK though with using a seed time you can beat.
I should be OK on the turn. But I'm still a little erratic on my distance, hopefully I can get the 45 degree leg extension push off instead of just the toes :wine:
