I would like to announce that FINA has just implemented a database of Masters Top10 Lists and Masters World Records.
The Masters Top 10 data can be accessed by Individual or Relay, Short or Long Course, Year, Gender, Age Group, and Swim Event. We have loaded all World Top10's from 1986 to 2006. There is also a "All Time" Top10 feature.
The Masters World Records can be accessed by Individual or Relay, Short or Long Course, As of Date, Gender, Age Group and Swim Event. This will give you a list of all the published record holders for the selected event. The records from 1985 to 2007 have been loaded. There is also a feature to view the published records for all events as of a specific date.
These new features are available by going to the FINA Web site at fina.org selecting the MASTERS page then either the Tabulations or Records.
So give it a try and I hope you enjoy the viewing.

Very interesting list. 90 y/o gentleman swims 200 free under 3 minutes!!!:doh::(:confused::frustrated::whiteflag:
Isnt that sweet! Ambitious goal for us to train for for the next xx years.
I personally find Jim McConica's performances awe-inspiring...

I swim with Jim every morning -- that is, I swim in the same pool and on the same team but way down at the slow end :laugh2: -- and he really is inspiring. An athlete and a gentleman and one of the more generous people I have ever had the pleasure to know. My daughter swims club and high school and Jim will drive two hours to see one of her meets and will time her and hold her towel while she races. He does that with all the high school-age kids on the club team, and shows no favorites. His work ethic is unsurpassed, as well. I was glad to see him on the cover of the USMS magazine last month.

I haven't yet been able to access anything but the All Time Top10, and yearly results from 2004, 2005 and 2006. I'm using the following URL: www.fina.org/.../tabs.php which doesn't allow me access to other years, gender, age group and the like. The link named 'View the Tabulations Online' is inactive in the panel labeled 'New' right at the top of the choices. Where should I be looking?
Thanks,
Jeff,
Each year the FINA Masters Top10 is built from Top10 lists submitted from member federations. Not all federations submit Top10 lists so that is why a swimmer can have a record but that swim is not listed in the World Top10. The swim you mentioned was not listed in that years Top10 as Austria did not submit a Top10
Thanks, Walt. That clears it all up.
So, officially, the 1:05.10 I did last month will be the second-fastest time in the age-group, not the third!
And you're only .09 seconds away from a new world record with nat's this year along with an entire season (next year) in front of you!

Actually, Jim, as you will note by Walt's message, the actual world record was not submitted by the Austrian organization for top 10 tabulations. So the world record is actually .70 away. But it's cool to know I'm so close to Nick Gillingham. What a legend.
If I knew I was .07 away, I'd be jetting around the country trying to find a masters meet in a good pool! As it is, I'm very happy with the time, especially since it's (1) a national record and (2) faster than Seth Van Neerden.

Thanks,
I clicked on this
> VIEW THE TABULATIONS ONLINE
and even though it appears to be inactive it did take me to another page where I could generate custom lists.
I'll second that there are some problems. I generate a list as of 2006 that should have had my name it in and I wasn't there. If I change to ALL for the year then the list is correct.
My mistake. I thought it was giving you the top 10 all time as of the selected year but it's really the top ten for the selected year.
