Isn't there some honor in being DFL?
I mean, someone is going to be DFL in every event. I may well end up DFL in one of my 3 events, as I will be 5 months short of an age-up, but I am really looking forward to partying in Texas!:drink:
Not ashamed, getting beat is "so what" if I PB, and it would be awesome to meet all and watch the pantheon of USMS compete...but to spend I guesstimate $2000 on flight, food, room and partying for a meet I didn't really qualify for...hmmm tough sell indoors.
Seems like my revenue stream is about to dry up too...which doesn't help at all, though I can train more!
Now, if this were in Vegas. . .
...now, if you were going....
;) :bump:
It shouldn't be $2000--otherwise I wouldn't go. Is this counting the fam?
hehe you haven't seen me party!! Possibly Family too but it's all doubtful now...
...now, if you were going....
;) :bump:
:party2:
Imagine swimming/ competing after a few nights in Vegas! I think they'd need to have slower QT times!
Speaking of which, I had a friend of mine run a marathon race in Vegas after a night of gambling and partying with the minister of his church. :laugh2:
Ande brings up an interesting point about the bulkhead at the UT swim center. It is very solid but one thing I notice is that it's a little hard to judge your distance upon approach.
thats why I swim backstroke, as long as the flags are regulation, all is well. :applaud:
The events I want to swim are in Sunday the last day - can I arrive Sat and still check in.
And will we be able to to practice Sat. evening?
I believe you should be ok with a late arrival.
They'll have warmup all day during the meet, and though I can't speak for TXLAquatics, most buildings usually are open for 30-60 minutes after the conclusion of the last heat of the day for warmup/warmdown.
BUMP!
Just made hotel reservations. Now I'm going to pray I don't have my regularly scheduled bout of sinusitis/bronchitis in April.
Bummer about the bulkhead. I can't get there 2 days early to practice! lol. I hope the pool is open Thursday after the distance events. I'll be on a plane during those of course.
Where's everyone staying? What are we doing for our blowout forum bash?
