...as I was contorting last night to remove offending follicles...I thought to myself, "Is it really worth the effort?" I mean I'm not top 20 let alone top 10, and although I give a gallant try and swim OK. I'm not a lighting bolt in the water.
Admittedly it's a nice thing to see a few abs lurking below the surface a little bit, which are not so observable with the man rug in full bloom, but beyond a little vanity clipping...is it worth it...or is it going to give me a psyche up that get's me a second off my 50 etc etc...
Anyone else ponder this sort of thing...
I wonder if high school girls still do this today? My guess is it would be a tough sell.
i still did it as a high schooler (granted that was nearly 10 years ago), but i'd be willing to bet that the girls on my old age group team still do it...
and it became such a habit, that i still only shave for big meets (thankfully i've got really thin blonde hair :woot: ) i know, even still, i feel *way* faster when i've shaved and tapered, rather than just tapered...
Well, Leslie is one of the girls....
Leslie is one of those lawyers.
I'm too sick to shave ... Argh. I haven't even tried on my brand new mega-expensive mythical $60 FS I yet. Typing is my most vigorous exercise. Hopefully, by Friday night, I can wield a razor. Or you will be looking strangely at my legs as we swim the 100 IM ... And I do not want any crap for sandbagging my times. Or I will call a lawyer. Oh yeah, my husband is a lawyer ...
Feeling any better?
Sorry for the intrusion onto the "man-thread". Right now I'm REALLY furry. I've grown out my hair since Worlds. It's blond though so you can't see it, and now it's so long, it's even soft!
I too love that feeling of being "sleek" in the water with a shave. With all of the hair that comes off of me, it's got to be worth something in time. Even if the hair takes off .01 in time it's worth something. I've been touched out by that much!
YES! DO IT! It's worth it.
I'm serious.
I hope I'm clear here.
Just clean out the tub/ shower afterwards so Mrs. Stud doesn't scream in terror at the residue. It can get pretty nasty.
Frankly, I find an athletic, clean shaven man irresistable.
:D
I'm Quasi-athletic and stubbly...but I have an accent and am a bit of a charmer...
is that good enough?
I'm shaving tomorrow night and clogging the hotel's plumbing...not mine.

Uh yeah! You are fully athletic! Aren't you swimming something crazy like the 200 ***? I still have yet to do that as a masters!
Way to go! New avatar of a fully shaven calf is in order.
:)
hmmm I'm thinking more of running a hot bath with bubbles, lighting some candles, and playing some Sarah McLachlan, I mean I'm shaving my legs so what the heck...
:D
Sounds like a spa vacation. If you're going to the all that trouble, you can shave my legs! Whadda ya say girls, shaving party in Stud's room???:joker: :groovy:

hmm..
Mrs Stud: "WTH?"
Me:"What? It's a shaving party! This is totally normal at big meets..."
Mrs Stud: "Get a Lawyer..."
