I wanted to start a thread for people to post links to some of the better meets they have info on. Looking for fast pools, good competition and whenever possible great locales (Hawaii?). Here's one that I try to make every year if possible....great tune up before nationals!

I like the ASU pool way better than the Brophy pool, Paul. I've also had some bad luck in getting the meet management at Brophy to follow through on all the paperwork needed to finish out a meet. As an example, when we were there last summer with you, they didn't forward the 400 split on my 1500 swim to the Top Ten. I saw the signed paper but it just got lost. It's a long way to go not to have the details done right (remember what John Wooden said...).
So, instead of going to AZ this spring (I already did the Polar Bear in Tucson), we are headed to the SPMA SCY champs in Santa Clarita. Don't know if this is a particularly fast pool, but we'll give it a try.

I agree the ASU pool is fast. They have a SCM meet there in the fall that is a good one. Walnut Creek and Long Beach SCM meets are usually fast in fast pools. Federal Way usually has at least one meet a year(SCY,SCM, or LCM) and it is fast of course(See you at Nats. there?)
Y-Nats @ UIPUI. Hard to find a faster pool. I've set several of my Masters PB's in this pool and am looking forward to the chance this year.
Hands down the fastest pool I've ever swam in. I love it! I did all my personal best masters times in that pool!
FYI their long course state meet in July is in Tucson (another fast pool).....
That'll probably be the last masters meet in that pool before they overhaul it into an extremely fast pool (7-8 feet throughout).
Greg.....you need to start planning your trips around meets vs. work! Sadly I won't be at our state meet this year.....we'll be in AZ. If the knee keeps progressing (Mel...its coming along slowly) I'll try and jump in for one or two events at Brophy.....
As for Ohio.....would come out in a second if the schedule allowed....post a link to the meet when you get info!
Geek....step up you old man....come out here with Gull and swim the 500!
The pools at Minnesota, Purdue and Ohio State would all be great places for nationals sometime. I think Wisconsin is building a new pool in the next couple years, too.
Paul- I was always looking for a meet out there in Denver when I was out there numerous times for work. Think you guys scheduled meets on times I would not be out there on purpose. I have no problems swimming at that altitude. Why don't ya come swim at the new Ohio State complex. I know, you were looking for nice venues to swim outside of the pool, but Columbus does have some things to offer besides the Buckeyes, I just can't think of anything at this moment lol
Our own state meet at Denver University April 13-15 has all the requirements: Great pool, fast swimmers, fun town.....problem is all you wussies out there who are afraid to come swim at 5280'!
Check it out at: www.comsa.org
Mel....I agree ASU is a faster/better facility and Brophy has not always run the best meets.....however I still think its a fast pool and Arizona always has great swimmers (they seed by time not age) and its a great time of year to be down there....FYI their long course state meet in July is in Tucson (another fast pool).....
So, Jeff, when and what is being done to the Hillenbrand Pool? How long is it going to be out of service? When I was at the Polar Bear meet, it wasn't being talked about.
