What does your team do to spice things up?

My team right now is playing a team wide game. We've all been split into teams, and then we have certain challenges each day that the designated team members participate in to earn points for our teams. No idea what happens at the end, but we probably will all get ribbons for participating. And the last few weeks of 2006 we had the Swim of Fame. Our coach made up stars that had workouts that played to the strengths of everybody on the team. Then everybody had a speical star, and as you completed each workout you put a sticker on that star. When you finished all the stars you got a ribbon and bragging rights. (I totally finished them all ;)....one of them was the Brute Squad set if anybody did that mail in event.) So I was wondering what, or even if, other teams do things to keep the team intrested. Either in the water or out. I know a lot of teams have team dinners every week or so. As a side note, maybe for all the people who use these forums as their team we can come up with something along the same lines to keep you interested and motivated too. We can start a forum wide swim game! That might be fun.....

Ok, here's some game ideas I came up with. They both rely heavily on the honor system, but I think they might be fun. 1) A variation on Bingo. Instead of numbers then we make sets. Everybody gets a random Bingo board, then everyday I (or some body else) randomly picks a square. Etc, etc. just like Bingo. 2) Something like Pig. Everybody who's interested takes turns making up a set that's hard but you can still complete. Then if you don't complete it you get a letter. Depending on how many people want to play would change the word we use I guess, so everybody has the chance to make a set. Etc, etc. Ideas.....

Not bad Kyra....I'm glad you picked pig in #2 instead of Horse though. So you complete the set in #1 then put your Bingo chip on the appropriate square afterwards I presume....I guess we should make some of these bingo sets fairly challenging as well. Good job Kyra...so far your grade has risen to a D+ (just j/k of course!!) Newmastersswimmer

Haven't done it in a long time, but I used to love the deck of cards workouts. We would do a set of 20x50 on 1:00 or so. Before each 50, one swimmer draws a card, and the suit determines the stroke. (hearts=fly, clubs=back, diamonds=***, spades=free) Face cards are any stroke but the one drawn (ex: king of clubs=anything but back), aces are rest. It's fun until you get three or four 50's fly in a row.
