Ready..VENT! What keeps you from getting to the pool?
Me first.
I am so bummed. Traffic was all jammed up because of an accident and oil spill on the expressway. It took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to get home. That's a 10 mile drive. I could have run faster if they let me take a straight line on the highway. I sat and peeled and ate an orange without even creeping forward. And not one of those tangelos or zipper peel kinds. Thank goodness I had snacks. I certainly didn't think to visit the ladies room before I left work. Normally even in the worst of traffic it's less than an hour. I couldn't even get off the highway because all the exits were jammed because the city was blocked up because people couldn't get on the highway.
And I thought traffic was going to be wasy because of school vacation week.
I work full time and go to school part time. That ate up all my swimming time for the evening. I went to work and left work early to get in some good pool time tonight.
Blech.

I hope they don't give you frontline and worming tablets Morgan. Hey but maybe you could lobby for the 5th stroke. Doggy-paddle.
;)
PS I am not calling morgan a dog either before anyone (Bork) jumps on me about it.
 I sure hope not as well. And ironically enough, any dog I have ever owned could completly school me in the doggy paddle. I will not be attempting to pass yet another stroke that I would be horredous at much like me and breaststroke:thhbbb:
The way you wrote that was very funny. Hope your toe heals. I've long been warning of the dangers of fins and paddles and other devices...
Glad you're back in the pool.
I've never had one minute of trouble with fins in my life, you troublemaker. :thhbbb:
Now for my vent.
We got 4-5 unexpected inches of snow. No swimming today. The kids will probably be home again tomorrow. Traveling husband came home Friday night. He geared up the fireplace (with inset) round the clock. My dry eye went to red eye and possible eye infection immediately. The wicked man. I sent him out for humidifiers in the 4 wheel drive during the storm (and to pick up my vigamox at CVS). Now, I have to go see my eye doctor. I read Bill's article. I think my allergy shots and allergy meds (along with age) are killing me. I'm thinking of giving up the shots. My eyes have been getting worse and more sensitive since I started them. It seems better to see than breathe. Blech.
Allergy shots for adults are regarded as only having a 33% chance of making a measureable difference. According to my allergist. A few years ago, after a miserable round of shots, in answer to my complaints. Strangle him, I did almost.
I'm going to incriminate myself with this...but my accupuncturist gave me this chinese eye drop...to put in my...nose. It works wonders up there...helps clear out your air passages and makes it easier to breath...but...I'm guessing as a result...if it was used for its intended purpose it might work just as well??:dunno: It's called Pi yen chin if anyones interested.
Additionally, for any nonbelievers out there in homeopathic and accupunctury remedies...suck it up and give it a try. I can not tell you how much it has helped both my shoulders and my asthma related problems. It's ridiculous. Our dog actually had accupuncture first, when he was paralyzed by a disc/nerve misalignment issue and the vets were all saying start thinking about putting him down because its not curable...but within a few hours after his 1st session of accupuncture he was able to stand on his own. By the 2nd session he was running and playing and his old self again. I believe we brought him for 4 sessions all together...but that sure made my mom and dad believers and I guess they figured whats good enough for the dog is good enough for the daughter:D
my point being...maybe accupuncture could help?
blainesapprentice, i realize this post is a bit dated but do you know where I can find the Pi Yen Chin drops? I used to use these drops for my allergies but I can't find them anymore. The one I used was just a combination of eucalyptus and water. I found a new bottle labeled Pi Yen Chin but it's some chemical called Naphazoline. It's not the same. I'm looking for the old eucalyptus mixture. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Here is a vent from today, but it was really more funny. My wife and I are on vacation at a resort on the Oregon coast that we go to often(basically a time share.) They have a heated outdoor pool with adult swim 8-9 AM so we got there at 8 to avoid the kids. After 30 min I started doing only snorkel drills that did not involve getting my arms out of the water as the high winds, cold and hail was making doing so painful.15 min later they closed the pool saying the 80 mph wind gust were going to blow the furniture into the pool,so I missed the last 15 min of workout.
