Billy's point well taken. The man seems to have done very long, ambitious swims in the past, and I wish him safety and success.... but I also have to admit, I'm still finding the "toothpick fish" idea not a compelling argument for undertaking this Amazon swim. ;)
That said, if he pulls it off, whatever the wildlife he encounters, it'll be a great story!
Our club pool is not exactly clean but at least we don't have any of these swimming in there with us.
I agree with Warren - he either dies or doesn't finish.
I heard a story about this on NPR this morning.
The report said he was pretty large for a swimmer, but would lose up to 50 lbs by the time he finished.
I can't remember what the drink is (beer or liquor), but he will have a drink each day. A clip was played of him saying something like "You have to be a little drunk to do a swim like this."
