What do you want for the holidays? I'll be like Warren and permit multiple choices. Let's just not pick everything folks or the poll will be flawed.

Tom: How the heck is heat going to help you swim at Soldier's Field in the winter?! How do you plan to keep out the non-stop piles of snow and sleet? What snow? There is no snow in Minnesota. We're lucky if it gets below freezing at night. The teenagers are running around in shorts and flip flops (of course no hats) and we can't even yell at them!
  • I technically got my 10 pounds gift. I started a concentrated effort to loose weight a couple days before Halloween. And here it is right in the middle of holiday week and I have lost 13 pounds since then. YAY! Now I want some personal bests at my next meet since I don't have to lug as much of me through the water!

I'm jealous of Michelle, I just don't like to be hungry so I can't lose a pound, but maybe I will during my training for Utila. We don't have the proper foods here (vegetables) to help this effort, everything is starch, starch, and more starch (sigh). But since you others mentioned snow. Let's get serious here. I have a small story. I went to a swim meet in Amarillo, Texas in the early 70s. It was an outdoor, heated pool. It snowed and there was snow and ice in the pool and so much steam coming off of it, you couldn't see the end, nor could you see the backstroke flags. It wasn't a white-out, but pretty close. Talk about swimming blind. There are pictures of us swimmers going off starting blocks that had snow on them. And all of the timers were bundled up. We must have looked like we lost our minds, but as swimmers, we are OCP (obsessive-compulsive-people). Admit it, we are. This story reminds me of the one that my dad told of having to walk 10 miles in the snow to get to school; we've all heard that one. What do I want for the holidays? Chocolate and some kind of swim headphones so I won't get bored when I start the training for a long one. I know, this is my 2nd answer to this thread, but you guys started it with the snow thing.
