i noticed that after swimming for a while, i experience foot cramps. They are sometimes so painful that i have to stop swimming or just end my workout altogether. is there any way to get rid of them. They are really hindering with my workouts.

Glad to hear that Donna. I have read a number of your posts and wish you well and safe passage with your long distance efforts. Fanstone it's always great to hear from somebody in the "sleepy time" community." I do the gamut from peds to open heart and all that fun stuff in between. The stretch technique that Seagurl uses is also the one I use, with good results, to ward off the evil foot cramping. I've also incorporated the runners Achilles tendon stretch before a workout. You know the one where you keep your feet (or foot) flat on the ground and lean into a stable object such as a wall to create a gentle, steady pull on the Achilles tendon.
