...to take part in an event and not totally embarrass myself?
I am not thinking of winning...just having a reason to train by competing locally. Does that make sense?
You nutcases are beginning to inspire me.. ;) hehe
This was a wonderful thread. It was one of the factors that got me to go and check a local meet out as an observer to see what master's meets were like, and I walked away thinking, you know, I think I might like to try that someday...
Yeah, just not in a pool with a bulkhead :thhbbb:

Smarty pants.
I'm never going to live that down, am I?
Polly not. What made it funnier was how it went down.
1) I was looking right at you when it happened.
2) I made the comment 'wow, I think she hit her head on the wall'
3) I had no idea who that swimmer was
4) I realized who it was when you walked up after the race
Isn't it our responsibility to remind you of things like this periodically? Like I'm sure you guys will remind me when I do something similar? Fortress? Swimmy? SwimStud? Am I right?
Guys?
Um, Guys?

Figured I'd celebrate coming up on a year of me deciding to compete.
Look at all the names of who encouraged me...the ususal suspects...even Geek was encouraging...I guess he wanted my swim times for smack material ;)
Thanks again to all.
Oh and here I was encouraging you to do a meet and then needing some myself! But I had to encourage you so everyone would see your adonis-like body and blow second whistles! :D
And now I get to go see the very same. What goes around comes around, I guess... or something....
I am so the most non-mean person I know...
I'm a wise ass, will verbalise at folks, will be catty but I'm not mean. Though I could be... ;)
I will second that. :drink:
