Thanks for this info. Normally, I don't like to do without coffee entirely before a race or morning workout, but I do reduce the amount due to wanting to reduce pit stops. ;) Never felt there was any problem.
But one day, before a hard running workout in hot weather, I took a caffeinated energy bar and started out all right--but about halfway through the workout felt dizzy and could barely complete the workout. I had thought nothing of eating the energy bar b/c it had never given me any problems in previous workouts. But hot weather seemed to have compounded whatever effect it had.
Normally, however, I'm fine with the stuff.
George,
You should rest well knowing that heavy coffee drinkers are apparently safe from heart attack risks... compared to the light drinkers....www.cbsnews.com/.../main1898151.shtml
