End of season meet was just canceled. Drats. I'm sorry that happened to you! I had the same thing happen to me last year when a LCM meet was canceled due to lack of entries. :shakeshead:
  • Tried on my replacement Pro. It's way too effen big. Much bigger than the one that ripped at the seam at zones. Got in it in about two minutes instead of 20. This has happened twice to me with the Pro -- suits the same size are really not the same size. Why is there such variation?! I'm bummed. :(
  • Now that I swim with a great Masters team in LA my rants are fewer than when I use to swim laps at my gym. Which I still do from time to time when our swim practice is canceled. One time at the gym I was kicking and the old ladies with the floral swim caps walking up and down asked me not to kick as I was getting them wet from splashing.
  • Just swim 2 laps fast Butterfly down the middle of the lane as they attempt to enter your lane. So true. Do butterfly and you get your own lane! It works every time!

I'm new to this site, but this thread is making me laugh. My latest pet peeve is the lifeguards closing off two of the lap swim lanes 15 minutes before they're supposed to on Saturday mornings. They said that the person in charge scheduled adult swim lessons at 8:15 even though the lap swim doesn't end until 8:30. Oops. So we have to suck it up? My answer to that is, why can't we just tell the swim lesson people that they should show up 15 minutes later? This past week 6 or 7 lap swimmers were inconvenienced for 3 people having a swim lesson. I think the worst thing that ever happened to me was when I got in a lane with a guy who did NOT want to share. He made a point of doing a sprint and then resting and then blasting past me again every other lap, kicking hard and creating a LOT of wake. Finally at one point he decided to do breaststroke with very wide pulls and kicks and just as I was going by him, he totally kicked me in the upper arm. Hard. I stopped swimming and yelled at him. He just said, "Sorry!" sarcastically. Grrr! This is a good way to vent.
  • meets with an undesirable order of events I wish small masters meets were set up like this where each day had 3 or 4 sessions of 50 100 200 10 or 15 minute break Where swimmers choose 1 swim in each session the swimmer chooses which stroke and distance to race then no one could *** about the meets order of events Plus let's stick all 400 and up events on a separate day.

Really hate it when people blow their nose between sets.

Ahmed, actually this was at a gym with no lane speed postings. He wasn't swimming consistently. He would swim a 25 really fast splashing and kicking and creating lots of wake, then stop. I would swim a few more laps straight and then he would do a 25, splashing and kicking and making it generally unpleasant for me. He just didn't want to share, but sorry, sometimes sharing must happen. And no matter how ticked he was, I really don't think that's any sort of excuse to kick someone. I mean, I was ticked the other day when I was circle swimming in the "Fast" lane (I belong to a different gym now) with 2 women who really should not have been in the Fast lane at all. But it would have never occurred to me to kick one of them to get them out of the lane.

Really hate it when people blow their nose between sets. Ditto. The hocking noises are even worse. Cause after that usually follows the disgusting blob which they try to spit into the gutter. Might as well barf in the pool while they're at it.
