June 22 1957 my wife and I were married and she has put up with me now for 49 years. She even goes to the pool with me. She was and is a great swimming instructor. She even counts for me when I do laps. Chuckie is her nick name, Mary Charlotte her real name. I met her when she was 15 and I was 20 but she was too young for me to even think about a date. Met her again when she was 19, she invited me to a sorarity ball. I told her I can't dance but she did not believe me. She found out at the sorarity ball that I could not dance as I spent all of my time at the pool.
Now 49 years later six kids all grown up and quite a few grandchildren. We are still in love.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary yesterday, June 21. We were married at the Pasadena Historical Society Mansion and beautiful gardens. We had a French country picnic in 1981 and have gone back and had a private picnic each year since. We also celebrated our 26th marriage anniversary on June 1. Say what?? We were married on June 1, 1980 in Las Vegas (the first marriage for both of us, she was 48) at the Little Chapel of the West (where Liz Taylor was married twice I think). On the way home we decided to make a big wedding the next year with all of the family and friends!
It is great to be married to such a wonderful woman. We enjoy many things together - and she counts for me too in my 500 and 1000 freestyles. Although she does not swim, she comes to most of the meets and enjoys meeting and getting to know other swimmers. Lucky me!
Oh yes, and there are 17 years between us............she is older!!!

Congrats, that's awesome! Celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary this September, I can certainly understand the sentiments. It goes so quickly and aging with each other is a special thing.

Seems like there are many celebrations on this forum for the month of June, I was born 3 days before you were celebrating your 9th anniversary.
I have being married only 14 years with the same woman and I am planning to last all me life with her too.
