I was wondering if anyone out there listens to music during a meet to take the pressure off before a big race. You sometimes see Michael Phelps with the headphones on before his races.
Dirk Nowitzki hums the tune "Looking for Freedom" by David Hasselhoff to relax to and he says it takes the pressure off when he has to shoot free throws during a tight game and he has been doing this since 1989, and this has been part of his success.
What do people think about this?

And yes...listening to David Hasselhoff would be the ultimate punishment. Definitely not race music.
