OK,
All of you who read and post often enough to know most of the in jokes. Who's going to Stanford this August? I'll be competing on Fri and Sun, Aug 4th & 6th. I expect the Tall One will be in town, and he's easy to spot in a crowd. Who else will be there? Anyone want to get together to share a libation and libelously inaccurate swimming stories?
Matt
I'll be there for my first Worlds ever and will enter on the 200 Bk, 100 Free, 50 Fly, 50 Free and 200 IM for the 40-44 age group, I am also going to take advantage of becoming 40 this next June.
I am very far away from the top times at this age group but I think I can do my life best times.

At National meets the relays are always at the end of the day so most people stick around till the end and it's common for group dinner arrangements to be made then. At Worlds, without relays at the end of each day, I'm assuming many people will just take off after their event with the likelihood of less group socializing. That being the case, I signed up for the social event Mon. evening near the pool. I'll be lobbying my CMS teamates (and Team TYR deserters) to also attend. Maybe that would be a convenient time and place to share a drink--or two.

Hi Everyone:
I will be there even though I have not signed up yet. I know I have only 6 days left including today and as soon as I get my Michigan Masters Relays straighten out I am in. I know that is a weak excuse but I was born in December and that is the month that all procrastinators are born. But with a December birthday I get lucky this year and age up to the 55-59 age group just like Laura Val does. I have been working out extra hard the last 2 months to take advantage of this window of opportunity. It might not be any good though but at least its better than being in the 50-54 age group.
I look foreward to seeing all the regulars here plus some foreign friends that I meet at past World Championship meets. I think Rich as a good idea and I am game to meet up with people and maybe the Relay day would be best because I would think the time line that day would be earlier because of only 6 200 Relays to run, but maybe not.

Right now competitors from over 20 countries will be enjoying the Monday night social. This will be a great time for swimmers and water polo players to get together and socialize with a "Taste of California."

If my parole officer is OK with it and the local courts are not really serious about that mixup (and the subsequent warrant) and a certain San Francisco Ball player comes through with the, um, juice he no longer needs, sure I will be there!
All 3 Flys, 50 and 100 free, 3 relays and I'm coaching a women's water polo team (and probably sweeping the floors after dinner).
