Anyone else find it a bit odd that the cover of the May/June issue shows "swimmers" wearing flotation vests?

The May / June issue of SWIMMER includes a six-page technique pictorial on butterfly by coach Simon Percy of Sun Devil Masters; a personal account of three Masters swimmers who were reunited through Masters swimming decades after their competitive swimming experiences were cut short by WWII; a product roundup on sports drinks; the annual lists of USMS All-Americans and All-Stars; and a Splashback column about Masters swimmers who were affected by the US led 1980 boycott of the Moscow Olympics.
The Training & Technique department contains a "Favorite Practice" by our very own John Smith, and the web workout was written by Masters swimmer, coach and four-time NCAA champion Lia Oberstar of the Dallas Aquatic Masters.
Thank you for asking.
Enjoy!

From what you have shared with us about the content of the current magazine, it seems as if there is no shortage of information about competitive swimmers/swimming. So all of this arguing is over a single photograph. Incredible.

Actually not. Some of us have posted criticisms of the magazine's content previously. If this issue has relevant feature articles pertaining to adult/Masters competitive swimming, great. After all, I am a paid subscriber. As for the cover photos, my wife (a nonswimmer) occasionally snickers at them. On the other hand, Swimming World had a great shot of Tom Wolf on the cover last year.

I don't make a habit of judging content by a picture on the cover. For example...you have a seagull as your avatar. J/K
I don't know who Tom Wolf is but if Swimming World is the ideal magazine for you then you truly should subscribe.
Swimming World also gave us one of the corniest, most sexist cover photos ever with its shot of two female Masters swimmers doting over a man while zipping up his suit (November, 2005)...
What was the point again? Oh yeah, some people think Swimming World is a better publication for Masters swimmers. With its paltry 8 pages of content for Masters in each issue? I think not.
It doesn't require an article, it's not hard. Just click edit and then put a check mark in the big huge delete post option box and then hit the big huge delete now button. Now that I've educated another person we should return to our noodling water wing discussion.
Matt- as someone who survived the vituperative chaos of the pre-return-to-civility era of this forum, you're not showing a great deal of endurance. Kind of ionic, whoops, ironic.
