I am sorry this topic has absolutely nothing to do with swimming, but that is the weirdest thing that ever happened to me and who else would I share it with but my beloved swimming community :-)))
Anyways, here is what happened to me today.I went to Mall of America to do some shopping.I mean I finally set aside money to invest into something non-related to swimming.I am definitely not a shopaholic, but today I felt the urge to get into some new clothes.Well, afew hours after browsing that huge concentration of temptations I gathered quite e few purchases. To top it off I decided to get myself some cool jeans, so I ended up in one of the clothing shops.I had some trouble finding my size and I caught an eye of A GORGEOUS young lady that was working there and asked her to help me out(well, because she was so good-looking, I obviously had even more trouble finding stuff :-))).She turned out to be a sweet-heart and pretty much guided me through all my shopping experience at this little shop and I finally had 2 pair of jeans that I liked after trying out thousands of them(well, not exactly that many, but you know what I mean). So it was time for me to go, but I kinda felt reluctant to leave without having a little chat with that cutie. So I asked her name and stuff and we had a pleasant little conversation.Man, she told me to stop by some time to say hello :-)))Maybe she liked me?'Cause I surely liked her, lol:))
Anyways we finished talking, smiled to each other, wished each other good night and all those things and I headed out home thinking about nothing but that girl I just met.
Ok, guess what happened when I got home?I realised that the girl totally stole my brains at the moment when we were talking, BECAUSE I LEFT THE STRORE WITH THE JEANS IN MY HANDS FORGETTING(I MEAN FORGETTING!!!!) TO PAY FOR THEM!!!
OH my GOD!!!I never shoplift or anything of a kind and never ever anything like that happened to me!
Should I go back there tomorrow and pay or is that going to look weird? The most amazing part is that the jeans had those magnetic devices but they obviously never got activated or whatnot...
WOW, I mean WOOOOOOOOOOW.I must have really liked the girl, 'cause my brain was obviously paralized for that moment...I promised her I would stop by again :-)))She told me when she works.I was trying to be a decent guy and not jump into the whole "Can I have your number" thing right away, lol.
Man, all I have to say is : women are trouble , or from the woman's view on the situation it could be: men are so stupid!!!
Take them back, and boy what an opening to talk to her again. I accidently took some cookie sheets home from Target once without paying, and went back and paid the next day, and they were actually quite astonished.
You will show her what an honest Joe you are, and that will definately weigh in your favor. Have fun!
Yeah, I am getting more and more excited to go back there.Gosh, the more I think a bout it, the more I think that I was destined to forget to pay for the clothes, since now I have such a great excuse to go back.I can't do it today(working all day and then swimming - that is still a priority, haha), but I will surely do it tomorrow and then I will go back there on Saturday and ask the girl out.I hope she liked me, well, she told me when she works, asked me where I live and let me know that I can just ask for her if I cannot seem to find her when I am in a store next time...Think I have a chance? We'll see:-)
P.S. I finally liked someone, I am a picky guy, ya know :-)
I too am extremely picky and any time I have not had the guts to ask a guy out or show interest I've regretted it, I have NEVER regretted showing interest or emailing a guy or what not. You have nothing to lose. Go for it!
You might have to invite us all to the wedding though ...
lol, great story!
I have to agree with everyone on the thread.. what a great excuse to go back and talk with her, as well as doing the right thing and paying for the jeans.. your conscience and your heart will thank you.
perhaps there's a reason things happened this way?
could it be fate?
Good luck!
Jeanette.
I think that Rebecca has it about right. Go for it.
You may also get to "ride to the rescue" if the store has docked her pay if she came up short at the register.
Stranger things have happened: I first met my wife with our faces about 1 inch apart while yelling at the top of our lungs at each other. 25 years later.. well, we still argue (her family's originally from Ukraine, so she's insane :D ), but not like that.
Oh yes, I think I recall reading elsewhere that you are originally from Russia. I assume that you have an accent - don't try to hide it. Most women I've met seem to think that eastern European accents are cute.

You need to go back a- to return the jeans and b - to talk to her again. Nothing is more frustrating to a girl than a guy that seems interested then falls off the face of the earth AND it's never a bad thing to show up the next day. Rebecca gave great advice.
You have to go pay for the jeans though. That would drive me crazy. I'd have to go back the next day, now this comes from someone who was in a huge hurry once and ran into the grocery store to buy a few things. The checker gave me $23 change instead of $3. I drove all the way back and went to the customer service desk to return the extra $20. And as a reward they gave me a $20 gift card, which I promptly gave to a homeless shelter. The guilt was too much, there was no way I should get rewarded for returning the money.
Anyway ... let us know how it goes!
May be you were so captivated by her beauty, you did pay and forgot about it. Did you count your money, go look in the car for the bill. Any thing can happen when you are in a DAZE.

It's my feeling that you need to go back ASAP to pay for the jeans even if she is not working untill next Saturday.....As someone else pointed out, her register may have come up short that day......THEN go back and see her on Saturday to apologize (like a gentleman and honest Joe should) for the accidental mistake....say you are very sorry if she got in any kind of trouble over it...etc.......also explain the nice story of your brain being paralyzed b/c you were so captivated by her and the interesting conversation y'all had that day ....(but don't over do that part or she might think you're coming on too strong?)....Then do as Rebecca said....ask her if she would like to do lunch or get coffee or something on her next break.....Say that it's the least you can do considering the trouble you may have accidently caused...etc... BUT return to pay for the the Jeans right away....Then go by and apologize on Saturday (IMHO only of course).
