I was so looking forward to watching the event on TV. If by some off chance it gets moved to Long Beach, Ca. I might even take a trip down there to see it in person.

Yes, I saw that this morning. It seems as if FINA was using scare tactics to get some ambition out of the Canadians.
I am recalling the meet director --or some other high ranking meet offical who was connected to the Montreal meet died quite unexpectedly a week or so ago... :(
I hope Montreal can pull off a great meet!
On tv, one report said that the guy killed himself. I haven't heard anything more about him.
Hasn't Canadian swimming had some problems with coaches being fired also? I thought some Australian was recently fired because Canada do so poorly in the Olympics.
