3000m world record?

Forgive me. I tried to find a thread where I could ask this seemingly silly question, but I couldn't find one. I also have trouble finding the answer elsewhere. Obviously this is not an official FINA event. But it does seem to be a popular event. I've seen swim-clubs doing local charity/fundraiser type things around the 3000m swim. I think I will try one soon. Obviously I won't attack the WR/world best, but maybe I can emulate my other distance percentile-levels. I'm guessing the WR is around 30min SC? 31min LC? Thanks in advance if anyone has info on this strange request.

Well, sure, I guess. (I come from the running world, where everything from 50m to 100km has a World Record which gets attacked, often.) I would have thought that outside of the FINA six (50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m), 3000m is the next favourite thing to try/do.
  • FINA also doesn't recognize the 25m. It is the truest form of a pure sprint in swimming, equivalent to the premier 100m in track. This topic has always been a can worms here.

Yeah. It seems that I made threads about 3000m and 25m!! There's the FINA 6, but I have the Skuja 8. :) l love having 25m and 3000m in my regular swimming.
