Has anyone going to Riccione received any confirmation from Italy? I sent all my stuff over and have not heard a thing. I thought we were going to hear from someone over there shortly after the April 3rd deadline.
Marrry , There will be three florida maverick masters in riccione. as well as some st. petersburg masters. Looking forward to spending time in the area after the meet. Hope we hear from the fina committee before we have to fly away. The Hotel booking company seems to be having trouble getting my credit card to give up its cash...Hope i can get that straightened out. see you in riccione. :cool:
I just spoke with my team president who's on the organizing committee - no confirmations nor psyche sheets are out yet. I'm in Florence, and I'm still waiting for a confirmation! But I have faith.
There are 6,500 people registered for pool races + 1,500 for the open-water 3KM swim, so it's taking a lot of organization. Everything seems to be under control!
Anyone coming to Florence, there are two public 50 meter olympic swimming pools:
"Costoli" open to the public from 10am - 6pm every day, address "Via Paoli"
"Bellariva" on the Lungarno.

Here's a link to an article on the Italian Swimming Federation (FIN) site about the inauguration of the new indoor swimming pool. It's in Italian, but I thought it would be reassuring for you all to know that the pool will be opened Sunday! An 81 year-old masters swimmer will have the honor of the first lap in the new pool.

The pool was inaugurated yesterday. A friend who went said it's GORGEOUS so I'm sort of hoping all my races (especially backstroke) will be in it, as opposed to the outdoor pool.
However, he said that the whole structure is fantastic, so whether you're racing indoors or outdoors, you'll be happy. Also, great places to hang out between races.

I received my confirmation for FINA Worlds in the mail today.
However, none came for my husband. I'm hoping his is just delayed in the mail. We sent them together and paid with a single bank draft, so if they got mine, they surely should have his.
I'll wait and see if it comes in the mail tomorrow. If not, I'll email AGAIN.
