I am six months pregnant and looking for some new ideas for my swim workouts. I usually swim three times a week and have been doing between 1,500 and 2,000 yards a workout. My favorite has been to swim a half mile and then do a set of 10 by 100 - alternating kicks and pulls. I was hoping for any suggestions that helped other women prepare for their pregnancies. Also, is flip turning going to become a problem? This is my first post and I'm looking forward to hearing any suggestions!

Since my husband and I did not swim, my two started swimming to be water safe. And don't blink, my oldest turned 16 two weeks ago and my baby is 11 today. Seems like yesterday they were babes in arms!
Karen,
My daughter is very outgoing and likes to be loud. This is a very good excuse for her to get to yell. I do get a lot of comments on my cheering section. I can say it is great having her there. There has been times I have pushed myself harder just so I could win my heat for her.
She is also great at counting my laps for my 500 and 1000. Someone said we should of taken a picture of her counting my laps and turned it in to Swimmers World as the youngest lap counter.
I do want to tell you I think your right in not pushing the swimming on your children. They may or may not like it but they should be able to do what makes them happy. When my daughter said she didn't want to swim on the swimteam for the winter I didn't make her. She is going to join again for the summer. I think if you push your children to do something too much they go the opposite direction. All I could wish for is that she will enjoy swimming like I do.
