And that proves what? Now not only do you think you swim better then everyone else but now you think you are smarter then everyone else.

Close enough: Originally posted by SWinkleblech ...Now not only do you think you swim better then everyone else but now you think you are smarter then everyone else. In all fairness "...Now not only do you think you swim better then everyone else ..." should be amended to: "...Now not only do you think you swim better than everyone else who started swimming late and than a majority of lifelong swimmers..." though. The smart part in your statement stands.

He has a catch-up stroke as ingrained in him for self-protection when doing high mileage and needs to bring the arms in front so that his centre of gravity moves higher and he has less weigh to pull. In quality races like the 800 free in 2001 in Japan, he used a rotary stroke, with the two arms at least 90 degrees apart, for speed. Rotary is more speed and quality, but more muscular and tiresome.

Hey, Ion, does that "few exceptions" list include the dozens of men in your age group who will be seeded higher than you in the 50 and 100 free? What about the faster men older than you, the faster women your age and older since you like to compare your times to women in this forum. Do you do that on usswim.org also? You pick on 13 year old girls there and call them wimps?

Sorry, you missed, none of which you said applies to me. (If I remember right, by your logic in previous postings, that would be tanamount to you lying) If you're gonna try to discredit something I wrote, at least try to come up with something that is applicable, and try doing in a way that doesn't make you come across like a sore loser, like your post just did. Your flaming and putdowns need a lot more finesse. Perhaps it's the language barrier. Oh, and may I point out a contradiction, if you;re a lot faster than me, that would mean you can do a sub :30 in 50 free, which in itself blows your theory about a late bloomer never being able to swim that right out of water. Would you try to keep your claims consistent, it would make them a lot more believable if you did. With posts like ytour last one, you're doing nothing but revealing that you're getting into an impulsive emotinal frenzy because something that was said got to you. You know, most adults have better handle on their feelings. May I ask you, are you also a late bloomer with managing your emotions in a more adult manner? Your performance with human interactions seem to suggest this.

Mark, these are pretty much true statements that I made, aren't they?

Your post is proof that one talks to you but you don't have a grasp. I guess the same thing happens when your coach talks to you. Originally posted by Conniekat8 ... Me, I am an exception. In the thread about VO2Max that lefty deleted, I put my regimen of training. In U.S., from East to West, compared to my mentality in training I see wimps around me. Today, in the middle of a workout I nailed from the push off the wall a 27 low for the 50 free, against a 6'6" who has 6 inches on me, who swam 26 high and who used to swim 22 seconds in practice eight years ago when in high-school. He is not a wimp but everyone else that I see from East to West with a few exceptions are wimps.

I did 12:25 in 1,000 free a few months ago, at age 44. And you at age 34 are much slower than me. That's where training comes into the picture. I train better than you.
