I remember when my son began swimming with USS around 7 years ago, they had minimum requirements for him to be able to swim the length of the pool. They took it from there.
Are there any minimum requirements, time or distance wise, for adults to join a Masters team?
I'm in my early 40's and have some physical challenges. I dearly love the water and have wanted to be a swimmer all my life. I know the basics of the strokes and am wondering if I would be able to join a team.

Like the others stated go ahead. Most of us are not the top swimmers in our age groups. We do it for different reasons and sometimes its more fun as an adult than a kid. Kids are sometimes pushed into it, I was. But as an adult, you have a choice. Never thought I could swim a workout over 3,000 yards again I have done that, Never thought I could swim a 200 breaststroke in competition again, I did that. Never thought I could dive off a block again, I did that.
Becca,
Move to Pensacola, FL, I will work with anyone who wants to learn. I have lanes from 15 yards to stop and rest to 400 Im repeats and coach did not give us enough yards. :D
The main goal is lifetime fitness. So get into that pool today!
Have fun!
