Phil, Tom et al,
You guys are just amazing! Having spent a few months in San Fran during the summer, I got a feel for your 'swimming mentality'. On one occasion, it was one swimmer's 30th birthday ... what did the coach get us doing? 30x100 (SCY), starting on 1m 30s, then reducing by 5 seconds after every group of 6.
So, yes, the last 6 were going on 1m10s .... oh yes, and the coach also brought along a bottle of champagne ... and the birthday boy was 'invited' to take a sip after each 100 (which even he couldn't manage on the last 6 hundreds ;-).
This sort of thing just doesn't happen in the UK. (More's the pity.)
