A friend of mine has a son (age 11) who has been doing some great times in the 50yd. free that have been under 22 seconds. It's been a while for me and I don't know what kids are doing today but this seems pretty impressive. I'm telling him he has a star on his hands. What kind of times are kids doing today?

Well, 11-12 year old girls have been as fast as older age group girls or adult women. Males usually are about 2 to 3 years behind girls in develop in swimming. For a boy under 22 seconds is good. In fact, the top 11-12 year old girls could crammed the top 40-44 year old women in masters.
