Hi Gang,
So here it is--Fall is upon us, and winter is around the corner. This time of year, when it is dark and gray--and so very cold, I find it difficult to go swim.
Maybe it's the getting wet or the getting cold, but I just lack the motivation to get myself going.
So, if/when you all have days (God forbid weeks) like this, how do you manage to overcome it, and get yourself swimming?

My brain is gray and cold most of the time...so swimming really helps me....:D
I am 1) a SF Giants fan, and 2) a Chicago Cubs fan
I could barely get out of bed, by brain is so cold and gray.
Maybe the Yankees will lose. That will help! (because I am 3) a Brooklin Dodgers fan.)
I don't swim with a team, so I write my practice time on my calendar like I would any other committment. This works most of the time!
I too focus on how I feel *afterwards* - my body feels so stretched out and relaxed when I'm done...usually!
I also keep my goal times around - I have a copy at work and at home. Those always motivate me.

The things that makes it difficult for me to go swim when it's cold are:
-walking out in the cold to the building (so I bought a giant puffy coat and warm fuzzy gloves. they'll keep me warm and are so fun!)
-the pool where I swim is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, which makes the outside seem inside, and the air inside isn't really that warm at all (if rehab permits, I'll run first to get warm, or even bike to get a little hot inside, then go swim. hopefully the swim will be refreshing)
