I am constantly surprised that when I do my training sessions at my local pool, there are very few other people apart from myself ,that drink water while they are training.I drink about 1 litre for a 1 1/2 hour session.Do others take in liquids while training or am I an exception??

  • Ok, this by far has got to be the funniest topic in a while! The great debate on water. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink....hee hee If I may add my own two and a half cents.... I drink so much water during the day, if I don't cut myself off at least 3 hours before practice, I have to pee sooooo bad during practice, I'd have get more of a workout hopping in and out of the pool to use the bathroom. Good grief, not to mention the likely hood of catching a chest cold or something doing so much walking around.....yesh! Anyway, not long ago I was out with my sister right after a practice and as we were driving along she was laughing at me for no apparent reason. I asked her what was so dang funny....she couldn't stop laughing and told me how funny it was I just spent 90 minutes in the pool and watching me drink a bottle of water after practice was oddly funny to her. As for the accidental consumption of pool water, I can't explain that bizarre phenomenon except for I usually get my taste of chlorine when someone is swimming toward me and we pass as they feverishly kick. Now that's what I call a sneak attack! I try and breathe on the other side when a swimmer is coming at me, but those blasted lane ropes....gees, they just get in the way of vision sometimes.
