A couple of comments: not only was this swim a European record, note how Yuri paced it. It was negative split (difficult to do; always impressive). Moreover, note how it broke down by quarters. The first one off the dive is of course fast, but after that see how he builds it by 200's, 2nd-slowest, 3rd-faster, 4th-fastest. This is precisely how my college coach told me to swim a race, and the strategy I had difficulty following. As Darth Vader would say, "Impressive. Very impressive."

This guy swims 800m faster than I swim 400m.Wow!!!!!
