I have my own lap pool in my yard that is 25 yards long and 2 lanes wide(16 feet). It has a concrete deck around it. Currently I can use it May through September, or 5 months of the year, but I would like to use it year-round, so I need to enclose it.
Can anyone recommend a builder or designer who knows about
building a swim pool building, and also someone who knows
how to heat it during the cold months(economically)? I am in
northeast Alabama, and my pool does get too cold to swim in
starting in October.
I do want someone knowledgable and experienced in this
particular field, not just any builder. Any leads will be
greatly appreciated

As an alternative to a building, you can use a gas heater (electric heaters won't generate enough heat in the colder months) and cover the pool with thermal blankets (not solar covers) which you can store on a reel. Supposedly this cuts heating costs by as much as 50-70%. I've also seen pools covered with a large "bubble" that can be removed in the summer. What times are you open for lap swimming?
