I am so new, that I originally posted this message in the wrong place:mad: So I will try again in, what I think is, the correct place:confused:
I am just returning to swimming for fitness, and have just found this forum. I am not, nor have I ever been a competitive swimmer. I grew up as a "river rat", and there were very few opportunities for competitive swimming for me. I have swum laps regularly in the past, but "other things" (like bike riding, backpacking, and kyaking) took up my time and interest. Though I still participate in and enjoy those other things, I am now carving out time to swim again. In fact, I now
have interest in participating in my first triathlon this coming Fall.
I am 61 years old and in pretty good shape (even if a few pounds too many), and am just now swimming 500 yards without rest. So I marvel at your 2500, 3500 and 5000 yard swims! I am hopeful to get tips and ideas from you all in improving my endurance, some techniques and my time for the triathlon that I currently question my ability to do :(
Any guidance and help will be appreciated, so I thank you ahead of time.
