workout team/registered team

How common is it for a swimmer to workout with one team, but be registered with another team ( primarily for relay purposes).

Why wouldn't you want to compete with the same people you workout with? I enjoy the support and friendships. Being a member of a team is more than swimming a leg of a relay. It seems that if you workout with a set of swimmers you would want to be registered to their team. In So Fl we have a number of small teams that workout at different facilities. Not every team can send enough swimmers to meets for relays. As a result, most of us are registered in one "Super club" so we can swim relays. You could say that we are all on one club that is subdivided into mutilple smaller teams. That's my .02. Michael
