I'd like to get some feedback on warming up prior to a meet. I usually swim mulitple events in one day. Prior to the meet, I warm up with 600 yards of increasing intensity and then follw this with a few off the block sprints. 15 minutes prior to my event, I'll "get wet" with some easy lengths, concentrating on form. If its an IM event, I'll practice a couple of back to *** turns. After the event, I'll warm down with 150 to 200 yards and the cycle begins again.
I'm looking for some feedback on my routine and I'd like to read some others. Before Masters, my only meet experience were highschool dual meets. I remember warming up before the meet and thats it.
Thanks,
Michael

I usually tend to do about the same as you except I usually do about 800 in the initial warm up, before sprints. I do a couple starts of each event I'm swimming and then about 200 yards warm down for 1200-1400 total warm up. If the meet is progressing rapidly and there will be less than half an hour or so before my next race, the 150-200 warm down after the prior race will serve as my warm up for the next one. If there's more time between, I'll do a warm down and then a warm up. For the 1000 or 1650 I'll do a larger warm down of usually 500 or so.
