Pool Usage - Help

Dear Coaches and swimmers, I am in the process of putting together a 5 year plan for our masters swim team. Our facility administration and board have asked the master team to put together a plan for the future of our team. I currently gathering information and I need some help. I would like to get some data from all of you out there on pool usage. I need to know a couple of things. If you only have some of the information that is ok.... give me as much as you can. 1. How many team members are on your team? 2. How many workouts do you have scheduled per day and per week? 3. How many coaches do you have? 4. What is the average number of swimmers each workout or swimmers per lane. 5. What kind of rental fee do you have? 6. Is the team an independent group renting the pool or is the team a organized program within the pool? 7. Do you have paid coaches? What are they paid? I would like to hear from big teams, medium size teams, and small teams. Currently our team has 100+ members and I will be focusing alot of my stats on the 100+ teams that reply. But I want some comparison. I would appreciate any help...... Thanks Dennis Tesch Coach and General Chair for Utah

How many workouts do you have scheduled per day and per week? On MWF, we have a 5:30 a.m. practice, and a noon practice. On TTH, we have an evening practice. On Sunday we have a 10:00 a.m. practice. 3. How many coaches do you have? One head coach, 3 part-time coaches. 4. What is the average number of swimmers each workout or swimmers per lane. I have no idea how many people come to the early a.m. practice since you would not catch me dead in the water that early in the day. We probably have 20-30 for the noon practices, maybe that many for the evening practices. Sunday is the big practice, and we probably have 50 or so. Most practices we have 2 per lane in all the lanes we have available (which varies--we have the entire pool Sunday morning, but have to share with rec swim, PE classes, etc., other times). Our swimmers are also able to swim any time the pool is open for rec swim, regardless of whether there's a practice or not. We have written workouts for those swimmers to use then. 5. What kind of rental fee do you have? None. 6. Is the team an independent group renting the pool or is the team a organized program within the pool? We are an auxiliary program of the UK Athletics Association. 7. Do you have paid coaches? What are they paid? Yes, they're paid, but I don't know how much, and would not presume to ask my coaches, who are also my friends, such a personal question. The coaches are paid by UK, so I don't have to deal with the monetary details, thank the Lord! Hope this helps!
