HI, I am a new masters coach and I am try to find some fun new things to do with my master swimmers. Like fun games, drills, and workouts to spice up some of my practices. If anyone has any ideas or suggests on things that you liked to do I would really appreciate your input. Thank you!!!!!:)

Thinking about those "Ron Ballatore" sets reminds me of why I got burnt out and quit swimming. "Not-so favorites" from my past. (and I was a sprinter) 100 X 100 60 X 100 stroke 10 X 1000 1 X 10,000 etc. Mind numbing!! (courtesy of our favorite Old Master Ron Johnson) I was reading about this new phenom who now has the American record for the 800 meters. 17,000 daily with 20,000 on Saturday. Totally insane!! The life of a Master is much better. I always start out with 500 free, 200 kick, and 300 back. From that point I do small sets of 50's, 100's, and 150's, depending upon how I feel. It is a pleasure to be my own coach and to work out as my body permits. This not meant to discourage a New Master's coach. Only to keep it all in perspective. Stick with small numbers, small sets, a variety of strokes, and an always have an alternative for the less driven.
