Since I will begin measuring pool lengths, I ventured out to Home Depot (and then to the Internet), to try to find an acceptable measuring device for a 50 meter pool.
I found that Stanley makes a 100 foot stainless steel tape, but could not find one longer.
In fact, the only longer tape I could find was made of fiberglass, which is not allowed for certifying pool lengths.
Does anyone know if a stainless steel tape long enough to measure a 50 meter course is manufactured, and if so, by whom and where can it be purchased?
Thanks.

I went to the Lufkin site and found a catalog in PDF format. You can find it at www.coopertools.com/.../lufkin.pdf .
I'm not asking for USMS to endorse any particular tape but before my LMSC goes out and buys one can someone tell me if this Lufkin
tape would be considered appropriate?
Catalog # C216
UPC # 037103451606
It's listed in the catalog with full specifications. This one is 100 feet. It's listed on page 15 of the PDF document I reference above.
