Cleveland rendezvous, possible beer

I feel I know many of you frequent forum contributors even though I've never actually laid eyes upon you; along these lines, I'm wondering if maybe we could arrange a Long Course Nationals get-together, perhaps raise a cup of grog so that when we correspond via this forum in the future, we'll actually be able to put a face to the words we are reading (and which I personally have found so helpful about all things swimming). I signed up for the meet via the online registration process, incredibly easy, by the way; unless something unforeseen occurs between now and August 15th, I plan to be in Cleveland along with some of my teammates from Sewickley, PA (we'll be swimming for Allegheny Mountain Associations Masters). Anyhow, if anyone out there is up for it, perhaps we could decide upon a rendezvous spot poolside, then go out for a beer when the day's events are over. Hope to meet some of you guys.

  • Thanks, Ion. It looks like Saturday is most likely because so many of us are going to the Rock n Roll thing Friday. Now what we need to do is get more people to sign up for our beer festivities! I am confident several of my teammates will want to go. Bring family and friends as well. One quick note--at these long course meets, they often start heats from both sides of the pool. When I suggested as the fail safe meeting place Lane 4 at the conclusion of the 50 free for men and women, I think we should make it the DEEP END of Lane 4 (assuming there is a deep end), otherwise, half of us might end up at the two different ends of Lane 4! Thank god we don't have to organize the logistics of the war in Afghanistan...It's hard enough getting 6 people together for a beer in Cleveland. PS We should get Laura Kessler to come and show us the brew house she has in mind. I'm pretty sure it's walking distance from the pool.
