Have other swimmers fought the battle of arthritis and won?
I have "age-related" arthritis in my neck, and a fellow swimmer has "age-related" arthritis in his shoulders.
I can't have my neck replaced. Je je. He doesn't want to replace his shoulders.
THUS:
Any swimmers out there done enough strength training to get the muscles to overpower any age-related arthritis?
I have done PT and am religiously doing the PT exercises, but I have a lot of pain in my neck when I swim (turn to breathe). I also am being as vigilant as possible re posture when working, and alignment and technique when swimming.
I want to swim as long as I can! I'm just getting old(er).
Curious re what other swimmers with similar issues are doing.
Gracias! Izzy
