:canada:Fina awarded Masters Worlds 2014 to Montreal. wonder if it is the same pool where they had Canadian Masters Nationals recently. Heard it was a nice pool
Lets make it a date gigi! I'd love to go to Montreal too! It's a great city. Maybe we could meet and have some french pastries!!
Deal! And by 2014, I will presumably have reached my goal weight and therefore will be able to indulge in some french pastries!

Hey, may I crash your party? I plan on going, too, and I looooove chocolate! I'm sure I can find something chocolate to indulge in while you two are hitting the pastries! :D
Since FINA specifically doesn't allow national teams for Worlds I wonder how that will work.
Somewhere in July, mid July that is.
The meet is definitely held at Parc Jean Drapeau, outdoor facilities. Not a bad pool. Of course outdoor 50m swims are always a challenge for back strokers but all in all, it's a good pool.
Can't wait to spend time down there with my USMS friends!
Very, very cool. Two questions:
-1500m at 2014 Worlds?
-For age groups are they gonna use your birthday or age on Dec. 31st?
Thanks!
Todd
Pretty sure the distances for Worlds only go up to 800 (because of the number of participants).
As for the second question, I have no idea.
My own question: Do relays swim as "club" relays (as in you need 4 people from the same club) or are they done by nationality?

Relays are club.FINA will not recognize national teams for Masters.
I think they should definitely include it but make the time cut very tight to limit the number of competitors.
Not a bad idea, but how would they enforce it? I guess everyone would need to submit a provable time, but actually checking all those times could be a nightmare. And, to be clear, are you suggesting adding the 1500 and also keeping the 800? If you did this you'd definitely need to add one more day of swimming. Two days each dedicated to a single event seems a little crazy to me.
