Next Friday is the last day to get your entries in for Greensboro. So, what do you think the attendance will be (of swimmers, that is)? Closest guess gets a :chug: or :wine: from me. Or, for those Forumites who would rather pass on that offer (I am well aware of who you are...), bragging rights. By the way, I still owe Patrick (PWB) for winning last time!
My guess, since this is 2012: 2012 :D
This was exactly my guess in the Championship Committee contest. I now suspect it was low because I just found out that 493 entries are from NC Masters (we just got an email about relays). Considering there are 1243 members currently registered in the LMSC, that's a pretty high "in house" participation rate (about 40%) for nationals.
I know the number. It's big, probably because NC is bringing it, as Chris stated.
I guess this is the only hope for a north carolina national championship, after the basketball team got thrashed today.
In honor of the greatest swimming event I'll guess 1650.

Rosters and psych sheets are out! 1,863 swimmers entered. So who wins?
No Lance Armstrong, by the way...
edit: I think The Fortress wins with her guess of 1,799.
No Lance?
You are correct; Fortress wins. Congratulations for having the closest guess. :applaud:

Fortress, I owe you a :chug: at Nats. Patrick, would you like to join us? I still owe you a :chug: from last time. :)
Even the square root of my entry (2945.38) is still the worst guess. I am going to have to raise my game for Omaha. Yes, raise. I'm off to search for some large numbers :bliss:
Rosters and psych sheets are out! 1,863 swimmers entered. Is it just me or is 1863 somewhat symbolic.
April 1863 – American Civil War – The Battle of Washington ends in Beaufort County, North Carolina.
How about Avogradro's number?
Good one. Graham's Number is another possibility. I'll know I'm on the right track when wookiee and jaadams1 complain about my use of up-arrow notation
