2012 LCM Nationals

I am pleasantly in shock about being able to swim 6 events! Yeah!

Due to the size of the meet (the second largest Summer Nationals in the 40+ year history of USMS) we will be deck seeding all events 200 and greater. Furthermore, all of these deck seeded events will be seeded by time (instead of by age group). The 50s and 100s will be preseeded by age group and then time (men and women separate). The 200s and 400s will be seeded by time (men and women separate) while the two distance events (800 and 1500) will be seeded by time with men and women combined (just like Greensboro). While it may be unpopular to seed the 200s by time at Nationals, this scenario creates a shorter timeline than dropping the sixth event on three of the four days. While I'm not going to LCM Nationals, I would love to have this at other National meets in the future. I know I may be in the small minority with this opinion, but I like it for a pure racing standpoint. By seeding all the 200s and longer purely by time alone, it can bring even greater chances to have your entire heat in competition with each other, rather than having "2 or 3" standouts in a heat, with the rest a little behind. The Canadian Nationals were seeded this way (yes the meet was smaller), but it ended up having some great races amongst all ages in the longer races.

I am happy to announce the sixth event will NOT be dropped for this meet. Swimmers who entered six events will be able to swim all six. Good luck. It looks like you picked a good year to attend Nationals. No one in your age group is attending this year! ;) More that he picked a good year not to age up. This is going to be a very fast Nats in terms of times.In my 3 BR events one could conceivable break the WR and be 3rd,maybe even 4th.
