Hopefully they have some trees or other shade facilties by next May. Kinda too bad they couldn't get the meet done at Clovis West - though I can see them wanting to showcase the new pool Clovis Unified dropped the big $$ for. Growing up in the Valley Clovis West used to be one of the only 50 meter pools around, and the premier pool for major competitions. Now they have Clovis North, as well as the Sunnyside pool in Fresno which can host big meets.

Just curious why Paul, since you live near the left coast? But now that you mention it, the Y might work better for us east coasters, too. It looks like Ft Lauderdale is outdoors...more info here: www.ymcaswimminganddiving.org/2009sc.htm. YMCA Nationals Ft. Lauderdale in April 09 may be our choice....

... I love swimming short course, but I think the nightmare of a week in that Prison Break compound might force me to skip, or to go elsewhere - Ft. Lauderdale, haven't swam there since the early 80s...
  • That link is for the kids meet not the masters meet. The masters meet is apparently April 16-19, 2009 in Fort Liquordale. Nothing on the Y site, of course, that info will probably be posted sometime around the new year, but found the dates on a Y team site as a "save the date" news entry. Glider i'm with you on the Paul Smith/left coast thing. He lives in a desert state and don't know that he's complaining per se about the Clovis temps, but if he is, we're the first to call him out on potential hypocricy! That being said, I still can't blame anyone for wanting to swim at the ISHOF pool.
