Wow - sounds like a Christmas of a meet with all these proposed "presents"! All great ideas. We did commemorative deck passes for our most recent zone meet ... laminated cards that had the meet logo graphics on them ... which went over pretty good. They weren't expensive to do either.
Lots of folks like medals - however, the plaque award if done well where you stick metal award bars on it for your events, is a nice commemortive item.
Also, speaking of Gary Hall, how about robes? He has been famous lately for his entering the pool deck in boxing robes, "ready for the sprint action".
