Speaking as an observer (vs. a competitor) over the course of the last few days, I must say that I had a splendid time. I accompanied one of the older competitors at the meet (my 84 old grandfather) and got to observe a lot. It was pretty clear that things were running pretty smoothly and people were having a great time. I wouldn't have guessed that the time between heats would uniformly be so brief. Also, that it was easy to understand what was going on from the announcements - both in terms of specific heat information and then other information (the replay on the TV upstairs, when the relays would start, and so on). Nice job, and if my grandpa keeps competing as he ages up, I'll happily join him again (hoping of course that things go equally well next time around).
On another note, if anyone happened to have picked up a black T-shirt with a tuxedo design in the front, saying "Aptos BiCentennarians" on the back, that would be his - he misplaced it sometime on Sunday - if you could email me if it turns up (email in my profile), that would be swell. :)
