I can't make the SPMA SCM meet this December and am looking for an alternative ... ideally fast pool, strong competition. Can anyone recommend a meet in any other part of the country?

How about mid October in the East Bay? Walnut Creek Masters is hosting the Pacific Masters SCM Championships 10/10-12/08. Contact Kerry O'Brien:
swim4wc@netscape.net for more info.
Thanks so much. Brian, I'd love to do the Walnut Creek meet, but have a conflict then. pwolf, the Tyr series sounds good, but timing's likely not right for me either.
tjrpatt -- do you know which website I should look at for the Rutger's meet? That's a nice pool, if its the same one they used for LCM nationals a few years back.
The TYR Masters Grand Prix for 2008 is as follows:
October 25 & 26 in Indy
November 16th in Louisville
December 6th & 7th in Chicago
The website, www.tyrgrandprix.com will be updated in the next week.

Hey Patrick, the meet website is at
www1.recreation.rutgers.edu/.../SCM_Colonies_Zone_Championship.asp
Doesn't look like there is an entry form yet. You might want to try
http://www.colonieszone.org/
in the coming months (under "Competition").
Maybe you can convince your dad to enter, too; it isn't too far from Richmond. I'm thinking of going if my schedule works out.
Chris,
thanks for the link and I'd love the swim there. My problem is that the 1st weekend in December is bad for me -- big swim meet for my kids in Arizona that weekend. there appear to be 3 great meets on that 1st weekend in December -- Long Beach, Grand Prix and the Colonies meet at Rutgers. I just wish one of these would move a week later.
I'll have to keep the colonies meet in mind for 2009, though, as I'm often on the east coast anyway for work.
There should be a New England SCM Champs in December. I don't see anything up about it now, but it is usually further into December. There will also be a two-day meet at Asphalt Green in NYC December 13 & 14. It is a new meet, so I have no idea what it will be like, but it is a nice pool.
Patrick,
Stay in Arizona for mid-november Sun Devil meet. Who wants to go to some arctic tundra in the middle of winter to swim (unless you have to be there for work or, heaven forbid, you actually live and scrape out an existence in one of these forsaken places of which you speak)? The summer heat has baked your brain my friend. December is a perfect time for getting fat and not swimming.:(

I believe it is tentatively Dec. 12-14 at BU.
