This thread is old but I wanted to add my perspective.

Every goggle I tried would leak on starts or by the end of practice... almost always in my right eye. After years I finally got sick of it, took a recommendation to try Magic5, and now I could not go back!

If your current goggles aren't doing it for you, and you have asymmetrical eyes or facial features that tend not to be accommodated by standard goggles, I think they're worth trying. (One way to figure out if asymmetry might be why your goggles don't work for you is leaking or discomfort that is mainly on one eye, or in different places on each eye.)

Everyone else: you can probably get high quality goggles that fit your face just fine for way less. For the price of one Magic5 pair, you could try 2-4 pairs from other brands.

I really love mine, though, and I love that they are sized and shaped differently on each eye but still look like nice normal goggles on me.

I’ve had my Magic5 goggles for 4 months- I love them. I’ve not had any of the problems you’re experiencing. Sucks man… Vanquisher goggles have always been my go to. These take 1st place- with vanquishers a close 2nd.

I got mine a little over a week ago. I'm still working through adjustments, as I still get goggle impressions after my swim (though I try to not press them into my face). If I can't figure this out, I'll be doing a re-try. I do like the angles and how clear the view is. Time will tell if the gasket holds up. Not so sure they're woth the $$ or hype.... stay tuned!

My husband and I were gifted Magic5 goggles a few years ago. They have worked great until I lost 20 pounds which I didn’t need to lose, and now they leak unless I wear them tighter than before. They are still very comfortable.

I thought I was pretty careful the first time I ordered Magic 5s and did their face measurement tool. But these googles have really have never fit me comfortably. I have tried and tried to like them, but my eyes are apparently very sunken, and the largest nose clip still hurt me at the bridge of my nose after being in the water for a while. Ugh....

After fulfilling their requirements, I sent mine back for a full refund. Which is commendable on TheMagic5's part. The real value added is, I now appreciate how good Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 really are.

I also find it odd how similar Magic5 are to Arena Cobra goggles

Tried twice but couldn't get the right fit. It was way off in my case. Got a refund without hesitation, though, which is good.

I have tried them, loved them at first. Great visibility for open water so I do wear them for those events. Peripheral vision is great with these. I don't find them very comfortable though, so I don't practice in them.

I've tried them a lot and really liked them. They look great too. Having used about every goggle under the sun [nothing will ever replace my Swedes ;)] I was a bit skeptical about them having gotten targeted ads for the goggles on Instagram and Facebook.

However, after reading the review of TheMagic5 swim goggles on YourSwimBook I gave them a try. A lane-mate had tried them twice but couldn't get the fit to... fit.

Anyways:

The pros of the goggles are that they don't have to be worn so tight (no headaches and reduced raccoon eyes), the diamond-shaped lens look pretty badass, lots of color/tint options, and once you get over the fact that they don't have to be worn so tightly, they are really comfortable. Customer service, as mentioned in other comments in this thread, was also on point.

The cons: Takes a while to get them, and I wouldn't trust them to not fall off when diving into the water as they aren't designed to be worn tightly. As a result, I stick with my Swedes or Arena Cobras for swim meets.

But they are a fantastic daily driver swim goggle for training.

I love them. Very comfortable and for me they never leak. Fog up occasionally but that really is dependent on the air/water temp and usually goes away after a set.

I got mine a few days ago. They leak occasionally and aren’t a great fit. So I’ll have to send back for a rescan. It’s kind of disappointing that I have to go thru the extra troubles. My teammates speak very highly of the product but it’s too bad that I had a bad experience with them.

I had the EXACT same experience with Magic5. Can't figure out what changed between the time when I first started using them and 5-6 weeks later. Mostly back to my minimalist Swedish goggles.

Unfortunately we were unable to get it right for my goggles. I did two scans/2 orders. The main problem was pressure on the top of my eyes. It was very uncomfortable. I offered to work with them for a third try but we both decided a full refund was in order. Hopefully they'll get this technology down right soon.

I got mine a week ago. They are very nice and comfortable. They go in the rotation. If they do not fit call them because the scan may have not been accurate. Customization via machine learning is still subject to imprecision. Mine fit perfectly when I got them and I have no issues. All goggles eventually fog.

Just saw this topic. I really, really like my Magic 5 goggles and have about 4 different colors for indoor /outside swimming. I've also given several gift-cards as gifts. The very first pair I received was less comfortable than I imagined and on my first dive off the blocks in a meet, the band separated from the goggles. The company is VERY responsive to their customer's needs and will do anything, even refund 100% and keep the goggles if they just don't work for you. My friend felt guilty about that, but I assured them the company wants a good experience for everybody.

Yes, anti fog never lasts too long, especially with the time I spend in the pool. I just keep a travel bottle of baby shampoo for my pre-swim routine.

Two very important additions they do for me (ask for this):

1. Have them put extra foam padding around the eye sockets, much more comfortable.

2. Add extra adhesive at the band attachment. I've swam many events since my first pair and have had zero problems with my block starts..

Thanks for that advice. My Aquaspheres have lasted me for over a year without fogging, both the polarized for outside and regulars in the pool, and I swim at least 5x a week. So 3 weeks is just not acceptable. They are comfortable, so I'll try out the polarized ones and see how long they last and report back, but it's not likely I would buy another pair.

goggles fog up because the anti-fog wears off in a few weeks and then tiny particles collect on the surface that allow/attract water vapor (fog) to form. I've never had much luck with antifog liquid sprays and have never had a set of goggles where the anti-fog coating din'[t wear off. Try washing with a little Johnson's baby shampoo very gently to avoid scratching the plastic, and then rinsing. I usually get one to three swims and repeat. I don't have trouble with my 2-3 year old vanquishers fogging as long as i wash and rinse them every couple of swims. Hope it helps.. .

My new pool goggles fogged up and became useless within a few weeks. Reported to company, no response. I'll use the open water ones until they fog out, then return to my Aquasphere Kaimans.

I decided to try them and I'm definitely not a badass. I've been using Aquasphere Kaimens for years, in pool and open water, and love them but they do leave me with marks on my eyes for hours afterwards and at my age, the skin around my eyes is looking rather dicey. So I figured I'd try them. So far so good. I still have marks right out of the pool but they disappear by the time I'm done showering. They are very comfortable so far but I haven't worn them for over 4 hours....will have to wait for the open water to get a real idea of how well they work over time. 67King, sorry to hear things changed at 5 weeks, I've only been using them for 3 weeks, so we'll see how it goes. Will report back once the water warms up.

If the goggles are pre-fabricated, have eye cushions, and the directions aren't in Swedish, they are no goggles for me ;)
